CREATIVE ART CLASSES
Dive into a variety of art mediums, from painting to clay, in a fun and inspiring environment. Unleash your child’s creative spirit alongside fellow young artists.
DATES: 1st & 3rd Monday in October, November, and December; GRADE/TIME: K-2nd: 10-10:45am, 3rd-5th: 11am-12pm; LOCATION: Strasburg Legion Hall; COST: $10
- October 6: Ghost in the garden – A step by step acrylic paint-along class. Painters will have lots of options to customize and make it their own. Students will learn about backgrounds and foregrounds and color mixing and blending while making this fun seasonal painting; DEADLINE: 10/2/25
- October 20: Sculpting Monsters Buddies -Create a little monster buddy using air dry clay and mixed materials. Kids will learn about form as well as some tools and techniques for working with clay; DEADLINE: 10/16/25
- November 3: Nature Prints Fall Wreath – Use natural objects to make prints and combine them with burlap, lace, or ribbon however you’d like to make a festive fall decoration. Students will learn about warm colors, printmaking, and being inspired by nature; DEADLINE: 10/30/25
- November 17: Watercolor Thanksgiving Painting – Paint your perfect thanksgiving dinner or a crazy turkey. Students will learn about the elements of art and watercolor; DEADLINE: 11/13/25
- December 1: “Catch a Snowflake” Silly Self Portraits – Create a fun picture of yourself in the snow with markers, crayons, chalk, or pastels and add puffy snowflakes as a final touch. Kids will learn basic elements of drawing a portrait but these are meant to be fun and illustrative, no pressure to be perfect!; DEADLINE: 11/27/25
- December 15: Painted Ornaments – Paint on wooden ornaments with acrylic paint and acrylic paint markers. Kids will learn about color, design, and composition and bring home a special keepsake; DEADLINE: 12/11/25

OPEN CREATE!
“Open Create” is a studio environment for you to work with different mediums. We will have a variety of supplies on hand for you to experiment with or you can bring your own projects in. This is a great way to spend a couple hours relaxing with friends and expressing your creativity. Instructors will not be leading these sessions, it is up to you to create on your own. We encourage you to donate to participate so we can replenish supplies as we go. Don’t miss out on this very unique opportunity. Stay Creative!
